About these terms
These terms apply when you use the S+ CIS Calculator ("the tool"), published by Sovereign Plus Solutions Ltd (company number 12223858, Unit 6, St Georges Square, Portsmouth, PO1 3EY). By using the tool you agree to them.
What the tool is
A free information tool for UK construction contractors. It estimates possible Construction Industry Scheme (CIS) penalties and costs from the answers you give, and explains CIS rules with links to GOV.UK, HMRC and legislation.gov.uk.
Not tax advice
Results are estimates for general information only. They are not tax, legal or accounting advice, and they are not a statement of what HMRC will charge. HMRC may reduce, cancel or not charge penalties, and your real position depends on facts the tool can't see. Before acting, check your position with HMRC, your accountant, or ask S+ for a check.
Using the tool
- Use it lawfully and don't try to disrupt, overload or reverse-engineer the service.
- Don't enter other people's personal data, UTRs, National Insurance numbers or bank details. The tool doesn't need them.
- We may change, pause or stop the tool at any time.
Our responsibility
We work to keep the figures and sources accurate and up to date, but we provide the tool "as is", without guarantees that it is complete, error-free or always available. To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for any loss arising from reliance on an estimate. Nothing in these terms limits liability that can't be limited by law, such as for fraud or for death or personal injury caused by negligence.
Third-party services
You use the tool through an AI assistant (such as ChatGPT or Claude) run by another company under its own terms. Links to GOV.UK and other sites are for reference; we don't control them.

Law
These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales have jurisdiction.
